Dão Region

A truly unique and surprising region.

Located in Beira Alta, in a mountainous area in the centre-north of Portugal, the Dão Region is characterised by jagged mountains and the confluence of rivers. Surrounded to the south-west by the imposing Serra da Estrela, the Dão's uniqueness is a result of both the geography that protects the region and the rugged and distinctive nature of its relief.

Among renowned vineyards, historic towns and villages, the Dão is an invitation to emotions felt and experienced through the unmissable traditions, knowledge and flavours of a region that has so much to tell.
